About me.

I'm at my best when I'm building. Building brands. Building teams. Building the kind of marketing organizations that help companies grow.

You can see sample results I’ve driven on my homepage, on my LinkedIn profile, or on my resume, but this isn’t why you hire me. Yes, results are the essential outcome for any marketing leader. I generate results because I'm passionate about the mission, people, learning, and the function of marketing, and it has energized me throughout my career. It's what I love most about working as a fractional marketing leader and operator. This is why you hire me.

Marketing has become incredibly complex since my undergraduate days at Washington State University (Go Cougs!), and that makes it both challenging and fun. For more than two decades, I've created growth and resiliency for education and edtech companies with brand strategy and marketing campaigns that tell a story, stand out, and grow revenue. I love bringing clarity to complexity, utilizing my experience to “see the field” from a marketing-aligned-to-business POV, and my expertise to help teams focus and execute on their most important priorities.

My leadership style lives somewhere between servant-leader and player-coach, depending on the experience level of those I’m working alongside, and I’m just as comfortable designing smart strategy as I am doing the work. As a full-stack marketer myself, I genuinely love the craft of marketing. And according to Clifton’s StrengthsFinder, positivity is one of my top strengths, and I bring it to every engagement.

When I'm not working or trying new things, you'll find me spending time with my trusty sidekick Gus (100 lbs Golden Retriever, IYKYK), gardening, and enjoying Seattle again after living around the country for many years.

At the end of the day, I believe the best marketing doesn't just generate growth. It brings people together, creates community, and has a lasting impact. If learning this about me resonates with you, let’s work together.

Heather has a unique ability to help CEOs package and communicate their vision in a way that investors, buyers, and stakeholders can immediately understand and believe in. She doesn’t just position products or companies well; she helps people clearly visualize the opportunity, the strategic market fit, and the long-term value creation story. That skill is incredibly valuable.
